Volunteering at the Club

Being a positive presence in the life of a child is a gift that the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Diablo Valley has received for over 58 years ago.  We value this gift and it is our privilege to able to share it with caring, professional adults in our communities.  There are many ways that an individual may positively impact the life of a child through our volunteer program.

One way is by becoming aProgram Volunteer.  As a  Program Volunteer, you will be tasked with working and engaging with our members in small group settings.  This may take place during Power Hour, our daily educational hour, spending time reading to them, completing art projects with them, leading social recreation activities, or simply engaging our members in conversation.

Another opportunity for involvement is to become a Volunteer Mentor.  This requires making an extended commitment to the organization, with consistent weekly attendance.  As a Volunteer Mentor, you may be working with several members; however, it is based on a one-to-one relationship.  Volunteer Mentors impact our young people's lives by engaging with them and building individual relationships with assigned mentees.
